Andrew Steplock, age 27, waived his Preliminary Hearing in Natrona County Circuit Court ultimately sending the case over to District Court.
Steplock appeared briefly in the courtroom on March 28.
The announcement of Steplock’s waiving came from Circuit Court Judge Michael Patchen, shortly afterward Steplock was removed from the courtroom.

Steplock faces charges of Felony Murder, Murder in the 2nd Degree, Aggravated Burglary, and Possession of a Firearm with Unlawful Purpose. He is accused of fatally shooting his mother, 58-year-old Deborah Steplock, during the early morning hours of February 26th.
Andrew Steplock was was arrested in Larimer County, Colorado late February 26th and has been in custody since. He was later transported to the Natrona County Detention Center where he remains on a million dollar cash-only bond.
The incident is alleged to have happened inside a private home near the intersection of Center and East Tenth Streets. Police arrived at the home around 1 a.m., on February 26th, responding to a security alarm when they discovered the scene. The victim’s husband was reportedly performing first aid when police arrived.
Police said multiple agencies have been involved in the case including local, federal, and state agencies as well as agencies in Colorado.
