The Cheyenne Police Department says that a visible police presence at the Firebird Motel in the capital city, ended up being a false alarm.

Officials with the Cheyenne PD posted on social media, just before 2:30 pm Thursday, May 9, that they were responding to the hotel for a “disturbance with firearms” call. At the time officials were advising residents to drive with caution in the area, and said that there was heavy emergency vehicle traffic.

At approximately 2:50 pm, officers updated their social media to reflect that the call had been a false alarm.
