Laramie man charged with murder, sexual battery in 2018 case

CASPER, Wyo. — The Laramie, Wyoming Police Department says that an Albany County man has been arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Murder and Sexual Battery, in a 2018 case.

Laramie Police say that officers and detectives conducted a “lengthy and intensive” investigation into the case.

Artem D. Day, a 24-year-old Laramie resident, has been charged with Murder in the 2nd Degree, Manslaughter, and Sexual Battery for the killing of a female victim on or between March 11, 2018 and March 12, 2018.

Bond has not yet been set in the case and Day is in custody at the Albany County Detention Center. 

Murder in the 2nd Degree is punishable by imprisonment in the penitentiary for any term not less than twenty years, or during life. 

Manslaughter is punishable by imprisonment in the penitentiary for not more than twenty years.

Sexual battery is a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for not more than one year, a fine of not more than one thousand dollars, or both.

All of those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filings from the Albany County District Attorney’s Office.
