CASPER, Wyo. — Casper Police have arrested a second suspect in a Child Endangerment investigation, that saw one person arrested this week.
Dane Alan Garris, age 33, was arrested and booked into the Natrona County Detention Center, just before 4:00 pm, November 7, 2019. He was booked on two counts of Child Endangerment with Methamphetamine.
Dane Garris’ arrest comes after the arrest of 33-year-old Elaine K. Garris, who called police to turn in methamphetamine that she said had been given to her, and she had using.

Officers report meeting with Elaine Garris at a private home in Casper, where she directed them to an envelope on top of a toilet cabinet. Inside the envelope, officers describing finding capsules filled with suspected methamphetamine, a glass pipe, and a plastic straw.
Elaine Garris said that Dane Garris had brought over the bag of capsules containing methamphetamine, and said that it was for her, because she had asked for it.
Elaine Garris told that she did not think she had asked for the drug, but said she may have while intoxicated.
Police say that Garris alleged that she and Dane Garris had both smoked methamphetamine in the garage of the home, while juvenile residents were out of the house.
After receiving the capsules, Garris said that she found the drugs in different places in a bathroom cabinet, over several days. She further told officers that she had found shards of methamphetamine on the bathroom floor, that she believe were dropped by Dane Garris.
It was reported that juvenile residents were at the home while the methamphetamine was in the bathroom cabinet, and when the shards were reportedly discovered on the floor.
It was reported that juveniles may have been home at the time, while the shards were on the floor, and while methamphetamine was used inside the bathroom.
Following Elaine Garris’s arrest, police contacted Dane Garris by telephone, asking to meet. Police say, in a filed affidavit, that Dane Garris declined to discuss anything having to do with him, and he arranged to contact officers following Elaine Garris’s Initial Appearance in court.
Officers were not able to attend the hearing and meet Dane Garris at the courthouse, so they say they contacted him by phone, again, and made arrangements to meet Dane Garris at the Natrona County Detention Center.
Police say that they were en route to the NCDC, when Dane Garris was spotted in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant near English Drive and Poplar Streets. Officers contacted Dane Garris and took him into custody, transporting him to the jail.
All of those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filings from the Natrona County District Attorney’s Office.
