CASPER, Wyo. — Two women have been arrested in Natrona County and face multiple felony drug charges.

According to paperwork filed in Natrona County Circuit Court, 30 year old Shanell Gangwish faces charges of Conspiracy to Deliver Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine With Intent to Deliver, Felony Possession of Heroin in Powder Form, Felony Possession of Heroin in Liquid Form, and a misdemeanor charge of Possession of Marijuana.

26-year-old Vanessa Lovato faces charges including two charges of Possession with Intent to Deliver, Attempt to Conspire, Conspiracy, Meth Possession, and two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Affidavits filed for the women, by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, says that agents started the investigation into the women in December of 2019.

Agents say they received information from multiple sources that Gangwish and Lovato were traveling to the Denver Colorado area to purchase methamphetamine, and redistribute it in Natrona County.

The affidavit cites multiple facebook messages, obtained by agents via search warrant, as discussing the sale of methamphetamine, as well as traveling to Denver to purchase meth and heroin.

A search warrant was also obtained for a vehicle that investigators believed was being used in travel.

The vehicle was pulled over on January 20, 2020, at approximately 1:30 pm, by the Wyoming Highway Patrol, near milepost 177 of Interstate 25, in Natrona County.

The vehicle was subsequently searched and found items including a syringe loaded with suspected heroin, a suspected THC vape pen, a container of suspected THC wax, a “blunt” with suspected marijuana, and multiple containers of suspected methamphetamine.

Investigators say that the suspected meth weighed approximately 23.1 grams without packaging.

Also found was a container with suspected heroin, with the contents weighing approximately 3.2 grams without packaging.

During an interview, one of the suspects reportedly told investigators that the pair had travelled to Denver and purchased methamphetamine and heroin. The suspect also said that they had been doing so since the fall of 2019.

Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Natrona County Detention Center without further reported incident.

All of those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filings from the Natrona County District Attorney’s Office. Information is provided by the Natrona County Sheriff’s Office.
