Officers report that when they arrived on scene, they saw Johanson on the sidewalk outside of the residence. Johanson reportedly approached another uniformed police officer, despite being commanded to stop.
Paperwork filed in Laramie County Circuit Court claims that Johanson paused for a moment and then punched the other officer in the face.
Officers were able to wrestle Johanson to the ground where it was said he continued to disobey their commands. Police say that after a struggle they were able to place Johanson in handcuffs.
It’s reported that Johanson later told law enforcement he didn’t know that the person that he punched was a police officer.
Documents say that Johanson admitted to firing shots outside of the residence. He claimed to police that he had only begun shooting because he believed somebody had shot out his basement window.
All of those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filings from the Laramie County District Attorney’s Office.
