CASPER, Wyo. — A male suspect is facing multiple charges, including felony theft, after it was said the individual stole a truck while the owner was watching.
The suspect, Christopher McCain, was arrested and booked into the Natrona County Detention Center on a recommended charge of felony Theft. In addition, McCain was recommended for one misdemeanor Interference with a Peace Officer, one misdemeanor Eluding Law Enforcement, and one recommended misdemeanor Reckless Driving.
After receiving reports of a vehicle theft, Casper Police officials say that officers responded to the 700 block of North Park Street, Sept. 25, 2020, at approximately 3:30 am, in Casper. Officers say that, upon arrival, they spoke with the victim in the case who stated that they had just watched an unknown individual drive away in their truck.

“Officers quickly began searching the area and quickly located a vehicle matching the description of the stolen truck driving suspiciously with its lights off in a hotel parking lot,” A Casper Police Department statement said Monday.
The driver of the suspected stolen vehicle is said to have attempted to drive away from officers, before then fleeing the area on foot.
The suspect was reportedly apprehended shortly thereafter.
All of those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filings from the Natrona County District Attorney’s Office.
