CHEYENNE, Wyo. – A 33-year old man was arrested by the Cheyenne Police Department (CPD) after it was alleged that he struck another person in the face with a closed fist.
During the evening hours of February 10th, 2021, CPD officers were dispatched to a residence within the city limits of Cheyenne to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance, according to paperwork filed in Laramie County Circuit Court.
Officers made contact with a reporting party who alleged that John Darryl Hill struck them in the face with a closed fist earlier in the day. The accuser stated that Hill’s punch caused them to fall to the ground, the affidavit of probable cause stated.

The reporting party went on to allege to police that Hill had also struck them in the mouth during the previous day, February 9th.
According to the affidavit, officers observed bruises and swelling on the face of the accuser. Officers added that they observed that the accuser appeared to also have a split lip.
Court papers report that the accuser advised officers that they were pregnant. The reporting party went on to tell law enforcement that they believed Hill knew they were pregnant at the time when he allegedly assaulted them, court documents reveal.
John Hill made his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on February 17th, 2021 to hear the recommended felony charge of Aggravated Assault & Battery Against a Pregnant Person read to him.
If convicted of Aggravated Assault, Hill could face up to 10 years in prison and/or a fine of no more than $10,000, according to Wyoming statutes.
Hills bond was set at $10,000 cash.
All of those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filings from the Laramie County District Attorney’s Office.
