CASPER, Wyo. — The Casper Police Department said on Thursday, April 1 that a security alarm was triggered at around 4 am at Platte Valley Bank, located at 3131 Wyoming Boulevard in Casper.
“A short time later, a call was received by the Casper-Natrona County Public Safety Communication Center by a citizen reporting that a truck with a chain connected to an ATM, was abandoned in the road,” the Casper PD said. “The abandoned truck, which was found just a couple blocks from Platte Valley Bank, was stolen.”
“Officers believe the vehicle was stolen just a few hours before the incident occurred at the bank, from a residence in the same area, just a block away.”

Officers have spoken with multiple individuals but as of about 1:30 pm Thursday, Casper PD said officers don’t believe any of the individuals they have spoken with are potential suspects.
“As this investigation continues, officers are asking for the public’s assistance,” Casper PD said. “If you live in the area of Platte Valley Bank (3131 Wyoming Blvd) in Casper, or between Meadowlark and Pheasant, and you have security cameras at your house, please check your footage for activity early this morning.”
