CASPER, Wyo. — A child was found safe at around 11:04 p.m. Thursday, July 14 near Cheyenne after an Amber Alert had been issued out of Colorado, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol.
The Amber Alert was issued after the Westminster Police Department reported Thursday that a man had allegedly taken his one-year-old daughter, threatening to kill her and himself in a car crash.
When the alert was issued, law enforcement was notified that the suspect vehicle was headed north toward Wyoming on Interstate 25.

“A WHP trooper located the suspect vehicle near Cheyenne, Wyoming, and stopped the car,” the WHP said in a Friday press release. “Thankfully, the child was found safe inside the vehicle.”
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Alexander D. Martinez, 28.
“Martinez was arrested on a warrant from Colorado, which included charges of domestic violence, felony eluding, child abuse, reckless driving, reckless endangering, and violating a protection order,” the WHP said. “The child was released to authorities in Colorado to be reunited with family.”
The incident remains under investigation, according to the WHP.
