CASPER, Wyo. — The Natrona County Sheriff’s Office says investigators have obtained enough information to recommend two counts of first-degree murder for 26-year-old Luke Thomas Young in connection to a double homicide in Natrona County, the agency said Thursday.

The investigation began late Aug. 9 when investigators found 27-year-old Kameron Young Johnson and 19-year-old Acacia Colvin, both of Casper, dead along Highway 20-26.

“No further information will be released by the Sheriff’s Office at this time due to the ongoing nature of the investigation,” the release said. “The Natrona County Sheriff’s Office continues to extend our sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims.”

Anyone with information pertaining to this investigation is encouraged to contact the NCSO Investigations Division at 307-235-9282.

On Aug. 4, Young was reported as an escapee from work release in Gillette, and a Wyoming Department of Corrections warrant was issued for his arrest on Wednesday, Aug. 5. Young was serving 3–5 years in prison after being convicted in March 2021 for manufacture or delivery of a schedule I or II narcotic.
