CASPER, Wyo. — Hazardous materials specialists with Casper Fire-EMS are assisting the Casper Police Department in an active investigation in a west Casper neighborhood Friday afternoon, according to Casper Fire Department engineer and spokesman Dane Andersen.
Some neighborhood residents have been evacuated, Andersen said.
The investigation is unfolding Friday afternoon on the 1700 block of Cody Avenue. Traffic is blocked along Cody Avenue from Desmet Street to Belaire Avenue, Andersen said.
“If you haven’t been contacted or advised to evacuate, stay put and avoid the area,” Andersen said.
Andersen said CFD crews were called in at 2:51 p.m. to support the active police investigation.
