CASPER, Wyo. — The state of Idaho has charged a Casper resident with sexual battery of a minor and rape. Twin Falls County Prosecuting Attorney Grant Loebs confirmed the charges to Oil City News on Friday afternoon.
Timothy Paulson, 40, was arrested in Natrona County on Thursday, according to arrest reports. Idaho was asking Paulson to be held on a $250,000 cash-only bond, Assistant District Attorney Blaine Nelson said at Paulson’s initial appearance in Seventh Judicial Circuit Court on Friday.
Paulson is presumed innocent until proven or pleading guilty.
The only matter for Wyoming to consider was whether Paulson would contest or waive extradition. Paulson waived, and will remain detained until Idaho authorities come to collect him.
Loebs said the sexual battery of a minor charge carries a sentence of up to 20 years in prison. The rape charge carries a possible life sentence.
