Casper Police: No shots fired at Werner Court

The Casper Police Department has released a statement saying that they believe no shots were fired in an incident that prompted evacuations and a large visible law enforcement presence.

On March 3, 2019 at 10:15 a.m., Casper Police Officers say that they responded to a call for shots fired at 800 Werner Court.

Initial reports stated there were several gunshots heard on the second floor of the building.

The Casper Police Department and several local, state and federal agencies responded for the report of an active shooter. After evacuating the building, effecting a search and conducting interviews, the Casper Police Department determined that no shots had been fired inside of the building.

Police say that although the exact source of the noise was not identified, there were reports of loud sounds coming from the exterior of the building around the time of the report. Police say that they confirmed through interviews that only one office heard the reported shots in the building.

No person was injured during the incident.

Police say that at this time the case is closed. However, the Casper Police Department strongly encourages its citizens to report any public safety concerns, immediately.
