Cheyenne collision causes power disruption

CASPER, Wyo. — The Cheyenne Police Department says that intersections in the capital city were closed for a time, after a vehicle collided with a power pole.

According to a Cheyenne PD statement, at about 12:20pm, August 15, 2019; the Cheyenne PD responded to a truck that crashed into a power pole in the area of Walterscheid and Fox Farm, in Cheyenne.

The driver was reportedly transported to an area hospital for treatment and the crash is under investigation.

Power in the area was disrupted, as a result the crash.

After less-than-two hours, following the announcement of the incident, Cheyenne PD reported that all intersections were open and power had been restored to the area.

The crash in the capital city comes just days after crashes in the oil city that also involved power poles.

On August 6, 2019; a vehicle collided with a power pole on CY Avenue during the morning hours.

A separate crash occurred on August 14, when a power pole was knocked over in a two-car collision.
