Crews from Salt Creek Fire, Casper Fire-EMS, and Rocky Mountain Power responded to the scene.

Sheriff’s Department officials say that investigations indicated that a transformer on a pole sparked and caused the grass fire.

Fire officials arrived on scene and took over observation.

The burn area was only 2 feet by 2 feet, adn was reportedly along a north fence line of the Midwest School playground.

Southerland says that due to the small size, distance from the school, and quick action by staff, students were not evacuated from the building during the incident.
