CASPER, Wyo. — The Wyoming Department of Transportation has released information on a fatal crash that claimed the life of an 18-year-old driver.
Sydney Ancira, resident of Nebraska, was identified as the deceased in the crash, which took place near the Wyoming community of Torrington. According to a WYDOT crash summary, the crash occurred on September 9, 2019; at approximately 1:25 pm.
Ancira was believed to have been driving a Pontiac passenger vehicle westbound on County Rd 50 in Goshen County, when the vehicle started to drift to the left.

The driver is reported to have steered to the right and then overcorrected to the left, causing the vehicle to enter into a right side leading broad slide. The vehicle is said to have exited the south edge of the roadway where it tripped and rolled 2 1/2 times coming to rest on its roof.
One person was reportedly injured, Ancira died as a result of the crash.
According to WYDOT, speed and driver inattention are being investigated as contributing factors in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing by Goshen County investigators.
