CASPER, Wyo. — The search continues for a fisherman that fell overboard from a boat on Alcova Reservoir on Saturday, and has been missing since.
According to Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Sgt. Sean Ellis, equipment has been brought in from the Sublette County Sheriff’s Office to aid in the search. The equipment was identified as a sonar system that is specialized for deeper water.
Ellis went on to explain that they had been using sonar in the search up to this point, but that the Sublette County equipment was better suited for the search area.

Crews battled windy conditions during the search efforts on Monday. Ellis said that visible waves hampered search attempts, and the Natrona County sonar equipment was being pulled out of the water by large swells. This left efforts largely to searching of the reservoir’s surface.
The Natrona County sheriff’s office says the search is being conducted near the Fremont Canyon area of Alcova Reservoir. Crews are in the water and ask that the public stay away from the area during the search.
The man’s name hasn’t been released, pending notification of family.
