According to Natrona County Sheriff Sgt. Bart Olson, multiple emergency departments and citizens have searched throughout the night and continue to search early Monday morning. Night vision and other technology is being used in the search, he said.
Sgt. Olson said an Air Guard helicopter from Cheyenne was called yesterday but was unable to respond due to weather. It should be able to assist in the search later this morning, he said.
Weather was mild when Joey went missing on Sunday, but it took a dramatic turn as the afternoon progressed. Temperatures dipped below zero degrees overnight, according to the National Weather Service in Riverton.
“There’s probably two to three inches of snow out there right now,” said Sgt. Olson.
Authorities say anyone with information helping to locate Joey can call (307) 235-9300.
