CASPER, Wyo. — Casper Police have released information surrounding a crash that closed both directions of travel on I-25, for several hours February 12, 2020.
Around 11:30 am Wednesday, a semi-truck traveling southbound on I-25 reportedly crashed near mile marker 186. The semi is said to have overturned, blocking both lanes.
The driver of the truck did not sustain injuries.
Due to the magnitude of the crash area, I-25 was closed in both directions from Poplar Street to Wyoming Boulevard.
“As a result of this large-scale crash and the blizzard-like conditions, multiple other crashes immediately took place,” a Casper Police Department statement said. “At least five were reported to the Casper Police Department, two of which had reported injuries. The extent of those injuries is unknown at this time.”
Multiple agencies assisted during this incident including the Casper Police Department, Wyoming Highway Patrol, Natrona County Sheriff’s Office, Evansville Police Department, City of Casper Fire-EMS, and the Casper-Natrona County Public Information Center.
