CASPER, Wyo —Casper Fire-EMS said in a release Sunday night it responded had to a fire on the exterior of a single-wide, single-family mobile home in Paradise Valley.
12 personnel from Casper Fire-EMS responded along with a Natrona County Fire Inspector responded to call about a structure fire on the 300 block of Columbine at 5:30 pm Sunday, August 9. Crews extinguished the fire on the exterior entrance of the trailer with a fire extinguisher and used hand lines on the remaining hotspots, according the release.
The interior was searched and found to be empty as two occupants had evacuated prior to arrival of firefighters. Crews found the fire had not extended to the interior of the trailer. Light smoke was ventilated.

“Interior damage is minimal and despite moderate damage to the exterior, the occupants were able to return to the residence,” said Casper Fire-EMS.
No injuries were reported as result of the fire. A fire inspector was requested and the cause remains under investigation. Crews were assisted by Casper Police and Wyoming Medical Center.
Casper Fire-EMS said it has recently seen increase in the number of structure fires, with causes including improper disposal of smoking materials along with accidental kitchen fires.
We strongly encourage safe disposal of smoking materials in a proper, non-flammable container. If possible, douse with water or place in a container with water.
