A single vehicle rollover near the Wyoming city of Rock Springs has claimed the life of a 29-year-old driver.

The victim of the crash has been identified in a preliminary report, posted by the Wyoming Department of Transportation, as Utah resident Samuel Roberts.

Preliminary information indicates that a Toyota 4Runner was westbound on an I-80 service road near Rock Springs on the morning of September 28.

Investigators believe Roberts, the driver of the Toyota, failed to negotiate a left-hand curve in the roadway.

After the passenger-side tires left the roadway, the driver is said to have oversteered to the left and then the right, causing the vehicle to begin to rotate counterclockwise. The Toyota entered a broadside slide leading with the passenger side. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle rolled approximately four times.

Roberts reportedly died as a result of the crash. Investigators with the Wyoming Highway Patrol say that driver fatigue is being considered as possible contributing factor in the crash.
