CASPER, Wyo. — A Wyoming resident died and a passenger was injured in a crash west of Glenrock Saturday, November 27, according to a preliminary Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP) report.
The report does not indicate a roadway, though the map tool indicates it was off Wyoming Highway 20/26 (the Old Glenrock Highway) at milepost 175, about halfway between Casper and Glenrock.
The driver, 32-year-old Lindsay Ritter, died in the crash. According to the report, Ritter was driving a Chevy Impala eastbound towards Glenrock when the sedan went off the road to the right, overcorrected to the left, and lost control.
“The sedan slid across both lanes of travel and exited the road surface to the left, then slid down the embankment before tripping and rolling an undetermined number of times,” Highway Patrol said. The sedan came to rest on its roof. The driver was partially ejected out the passenger-side window. A seatbelt was not in use, the report notes.
Highway Patrol notes that the information in its preliminary report is subject to change without notice.
