CASPER, Wyo. — Casper Fire-EMS responded to a structure fire on the 3000 block of Meadowlark Drive around 5 p.m. Saturday, the entity stated in a press release sent that evening.
“Occupants were home at the time of the fire and had evacuated prior to firefighters’ arrival,” the release continued. No injuries resulted from the fire.
Damage was limited to the exterior of the building, and residents were able to return to it after the fire was quelled. The cause of the blaze is unknown and is still being investigated.
Initially, five units from Casper Fire-EMS responded to the call, the department stated. They were assisted by fire investigators, Banner Wyoming Medical Center, Casper Police, Casper Public Safety Tele-Communicators, Black Hills Energy and Rocky Mountain Power.
“Casper Fire-EMS would like to remind citizens that as summer progresses, we encounter increased fire danger,” the release states. “Keeping grass trimmed around fences and structures reduces the risk of spread if a fire were to occur.”
