CASPER, Wyo. — A 38-year-old Etna, Wyoming, resident died as a result of injuries sustained in a crash on U.S. Highway 26 near Dubois on Wednesday, Sept. 14, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Shane Underwood has been identified as the driver who died in the single-vehicle crash.

Troopers were notified of the crash at around 5:23 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, according to the WHP. Underwood had been driving east on U.S. Highway 26 in a Chevrolet Tracker pulling a small flatbed trailer when he failed to negotiate a left-hand curve near mile marker 32.

The vehicle and the trailer exited the roadway to the right and rolled several times. Underwood was ejected from the vehicle during the rollover, according to the WHP. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Speed is being considered as a possible contributing factor to the crash, according to the WHP.
