CASPER, Wyo. — An emergency medical technician with the Memorial Hospital of Carbon County died on Wednesday morning and another EMT was injured when a vehicle struck an MHCC ambulance that was responding to a previous crash along Interstate 80, the hospital announced.
The initial crash occurred in the early morning hours in a westbound lane between mile markers 195 and 197 on I-80 in Sweetwater County, the hospital said.
Westbound I-80 has been closed much of Wednesday morning due to the crashes, according to WYDOT. Westbound I-80 remains closed from Rawlins to Laramie as of 10:50 a.m. Wednesday.
