CASPER, Wyo. — Two people were injured and three have been displaced after a house fire in Mills on Monday evening.

According to a release from the Mills Fire Department, crews were called just after 5:30 p.m. to a reported structure fire at the 500 block of North 2nd Avenue.

When crews arrived, they found a single-wide mobile home fully engulfed in fire, with a nearby residence “actively threatened.” Due to the heavy amount of fire in the mobile home, fire crews decided to take a defensive stand toward the fire to protect the neighboring residence.

Crews were hampered by a live power line that was on the ground after fire burned through the wire. No one was injured by the downed wire, they said.

The release says that one adult and one juvenile were transported by ambulance to Banner Health Wyoming Medical Center for evaluation. Their injuries do not appear life-threatening. In total, three residents of the home were displaced and will reside with family members living in the area.

The fire is under investigation by the Natrona County Interagency Fire Investigation Task Force.
