CASPER, Wyo. — A hay truck that caught on fire along Interstate 25 just outside Douglas this afternoon has temporarily shut down southbound traffic as first responders tend to the scene.

Wyoming Highway Patrol Sergeant Jeremy Beck said nobody was injured in the incident, which occurred near milepost 149. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, he added.

At the time of publication, emergency personnel remain on scene, stamping out remaining hotspots, Beck added. Beck said the closure will likely not be extended, and he added that a single lane may open up before southbound travel is fully restored.

Motorists should use caution when driving through the area and avoid it if possible.
