Former congresswoman Cynthia Lummis has announced her intention to run for Sen. Mike Enzi’s seat.

Lummis’ campaign announced the run in a release sent this morning.

“I’m ready to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with President Trump to ensure conservative voices are heard loud and clear and to deliver real results for Wyoming people,” said Lummis in the written release.

Republican Sen. Mike Enzi announced last year he would not run for reelection for his U.S. Senate seat, a position he’s held since being elected in 1996.

Cynthia Lummis served as a Republican U.S. Representative for Wyoming from 2009 through 2017.

In the release, Lummis is positioning herself as a staunch conservative, supporting “Wyoming’s mineral and energy resources,” helping found the Freedom Caucus and receiving an A+ rating from the NRA. The release says she has a “100% voting record with Right to Life.”

A telephone press conference is scheduled today at noon.
