Riverton Veterans Hall commits to repairing vandalized battle cross

CASPER, Wyo. — A battle cross honoring deceased Command Sergeant Major Kevin Griffin was reported vandalized by the Riverton Police Department on Thursday, Nov. 7.

On Friday, police said that they’d been in touch with Jim Arndt and Pat Lawson at the Veterans Hall in Riverton.

“Jim’s words: ‘We are going replace or repair. Thank you all as a veteran myself and one of many veterans here in Riverton that have put their heart and soul into this park. We are all sick over this act but we will repair the CSM Griffin Memorial,” Riverton PD said on Facebook.

Police said they were seeking information on the vandalism which occured to the monument in the city’s Veteran’s Park.

Photos they shared show that the upper part of the statue was broken off ahead of the upcoming Veteran’s Day:
