CASPER, Wyo. — The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association is a non-profit organization that looks to “protect your freedom to fly by supporting activities that ensure the long-term health of general aviation.”
The AOPA organizes “Fly-Ins” at cities across the country to bring pilots and plane enthusiasts together.
They are working to select sites for their 2020-2022 Fly-Ins.

Casper City Councilman Bob Hopkins says that Casper is being considered to host such an event.
He said during a Tuesday, Nov. 12 work session that the AOPA is also considering organizing the Fly-In during the College National Finals Rodeo if Casper is selected.
“It could be a big deal,” he said.
The AOPA says they will select up to four airports for each year.
“Each year during this site research and selection process, the final commitment for the coming year’s fly-in locations will be confirmed and announced during the 4th quarter of each year,” AOPA adds. “Qualified airports not selected for a given year will continue to be considered for future years as research and long-range planning continues.”
