Reports say the Ford pickup and the a Kenworth semi were both northbound on Wyoming Highway 59, on November 25, at approximately 3:30 pm. The Ford pickup is believed to have entered the southbound lane, in a no-passing zone, and began passing northbound vehicles at a high rate of speed.
The crash summary says that oncoming southbound traffic forced the Ford pickup to return to the northbound lane. As the Ford pickup returned, it struck the front driver’s side of the semi and lost control. The Ford pickup then ran off the road to the left, entering the ditch.
The Ford pickup rolled numerous times and came to rest in an adjacent agricultural pasture.
Speed is being investigated as being a possible contributing factor in the incident. The deceased was reportedly not wearing a safety belt at the time of the crash.
