CASPER, Wyo — The National Weather Service station in Cheyenne has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for portions of the state east of Douglas until 8:00 pm Saturday, May 23.
According to NWS Cheyenne, strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible, especially along and east of a line from Douglas to Cheyenne, as a surface front moves east into Nebraska and South Dakota.
The primary hazards will be hail up to the size of ping pong balls and damaging wind gusts of 60 mph or higher. Heavy rainfall may lead to localized minor flooding. The thunderstorms will weaken later this evening.
