CASPER, Wyo. — Further details have been made available regarding a truck crash which occurred at around 4 pm Wednesday, June 3 near demonstrations in Casper.
Casper Police Department Public Information Officer Rebekah Ladd said that the truck had been carrying demonstrators in its bed when it crashed into the curb along East Second Street by Conwell Park while headed eastbound.
Reporters on scene described hearing a loud scraping sound that caused the gathered crowd to quickly turn, as a truck went up and over the median and came to a rest in Conwell Park near a gazebo.

Ladd said that three people in the vehicle sustained injuries and were taken to the Wyoming Medical Center. Due to the circumstances, she said investigation into the crash is on-going and that citations have not been issued.
She added that a Special Response Team was deployed after the crash since other officers were occupied in responding to the crash. She expressed the department’s support for people’s First Amendment rights and that officers were working to ensure safety.
