NCSO: Memorial Day Alcova shooting started as argument over parking

CASPER, Wyo. —  A suspect has been jailed after a shooting incident near Alcova, officials with Natrona County Sheriff’s Office reported Wednesday morning.

NCSO says that a report was made by the suspect complaining of a parking problem on Cortez Road, near Sloan’s General Store, in Natrona County. Sgt. Taylor Courtney says that the suspect was complaining that people were parking on the public roadway.

Before law enforcement arrived on scene, it was reported that the suspect obtained a gun and was involved in an an altercation with the driver of a motorhome. It is alleged that the suspect fired a shot at the driver’s feet, and then fired again at the driver’s motorhome.

The suspect was identified as Cheryl Fisher, born 1955, a resident of Alcova.

The victim in the case was identified as a Casper resident.

The investigation is ongoing by the Natrona County Sheriff’s Office.

NCSO officials say that that Fisher was recommended for charges of felony Property Destruction, Possession of a Weapon With Unlawful Intent, and four charges of Aggravated Assault.

Her bond was set at $5,000, and jail records show she is no longer in custody at the Natrona County Detention Center.

All of those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filings from the Natrona County District Attorney’s Office.
