CASPER, Wyo — A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Cheyenne for eastern Wyoming until 10:00 pm Sunday.
The main threats associated with these storms will be strong downburst winds up to 75 mph, scattered “frequent lightning” and isolated areas of possibly lime-sized hail, NWS said. The chance for storms increases after 4:00 pm.
Pea-sized hail has already been noted across I-25 near Chugwater, the Wyoming Department of Transportation noted at 3:45 pm Sunday.

Platte, Goshen, Laramie, and Niobrara counties are all affected, as well as western areas of Nebraska.
