Togwotee Pass 12/12/21 (WYDOT)

CASPER, Wyo. —  Snowfall is affecting northeast Wyoming Sunday with reduced visibility due to blowing snow and slippery road conditions advised through 11:00 p.m., according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Riverton.

Snowfall will be heaviest through the afternoon, the NWS said.

Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches are expected in Jackson, with winds gusting as high as 40 mph north of Jackson to Moran Junction.

6 to 12 inches inches of snow are expected in the Teton and Gros Ventre Mountains. 55-mph gusts are advised near the higher peaks.

“Travel could be very difficult, especially over Teton and Togwotee Passes,” the NWS said. “Blowing and drifting snow could significantly reduce visibility.”

Blowing snow from 55-mph winds are also advised for southern Campbell County and the Weston County plains until 5:00 p.m. Sunday evening.
