CASPER, Wyo. — Casper police believe that 14-year-old runaway G.P., the subject of an AMBER Alert issued Thursday, is traveling with an adult family acquaintance identified as James Warren Martin, 36.
Police believe Martin “is interfering with the legal custody of a minor child in violation of Wyoming State Statute,” according to the CPD release Thursday afternoon.
Both Martin and G.P. have been seen in Martin’s vehicle, a black 2014 Ford F150 with a “lift kit” and Star Wars stick figures in the back. The truck was last known to have Wyoming plate 1-36929. The pictured truck is a stock photo of the make and model, not a picture of the suspect’s actual vehicle.
On Wednesday, G.P.’s legal guardian reported her missing when she did not return home from school. A CPD Criminal Investigation Unit detective immediately began looking into her whereabouts. Through the course of that investigation, it was learned that she had been having long-term communication with Martin.
G.P. is described as a 14-year-old girl, 5-foot-1, and 109 pounds. She has blue eyes and blonde hair.
Martin is described as a 36-year-old man, 5-foot-11, and weighing between 260 and 300 pounds. Martin has blue eyes and brown hair.
“If you see Martin, [G.P.], or the 2014 black truck, please contact the Casper Police Department at 307-235-8278 or 911,” police said.
