GILLETTE, Wyo. — A Gillette man has been identified as the truck driver who died Saturday night following a crash on Interstate 90 that resulted in a vehicle fire, authorities said Tuesday.

Justian W. Browning, 41, has been identified as the driver of a large work truck involved in a two-vehicle collision near milepost 97 on I-90 on Dec. 10 around 11:08 p.m., according to Campbell County Coroner Paul Wallem and Undersheriff Quentin Reynolds.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene after receiving reports of the crash; one of the vehicles had reportedly caught fire and witnesses believed the driver was still inside, Reynolds told reporters on Dec. 12.

When deputies arrived on the scene, Browning’s pickup was fully engulfed in flames and he wasn’t immediately located due to the fire’s intensity, Reynolds said.

Browning is believed to have died immediately on impact, Wallem said.

Information concerning the exact circumstances that led to the crash and details regarding the other vehicle and driver have not been released by the Wyoming Highway Patrol, which has taken over the investigation.
