CASPER, Wyo. — Laramie Cummings will conduct a free tour of historic buildings and art murals in downtown Casper on Aug. 21 as she leads the second of four Wyoming Walks sponsored by University of Wyoming Extension Services.

“Get your heart pumping for this easy stroll and healthy walking,” Cummings said via LinkedIn.

To participate in the new Monday health, wellness and learning activity, meet in front of Frontier Brewing Co., 150 W. 2nd St., at 5:45 p.m. Look for a gold UW Extension flag. Dress comfortably, wear good walking shoes and bring water and sunscreen.

“The aim is to get people out for some exercise, learn about downtown Casper by enjoying the historic buildings and art, and get to know others in the Casper community,” Joddee Jacobsen, UW community vitality and health educator, said by email.

The walk will end at Frontier Brewing Co. in the former Fox Theatre.

Wyoming Walks is organized by Jacobsen and her colleague Hailey Moss, who are the first in the state to offer the walks. The idea is to get people out moving as they explore their community, form new friendships and learn about different spaces in Natrona County.

Jacobsen said the plan is to offer the free walking series each year.

“We look forward to it growing each time we offer a walk,” she said.

According to Jacobsen, 26 people attended the first walk on July 25 at The Bloomery. The final two walks are set for Sept. 18 and Oct. 2.
