The National Weather Service released preliminary snowfall totals from the snowstorm that begin in Casper on Wednesday, March 13.
“A record breaking winter storm hit eastern and southern Wyoming Wednesday,” the NWS preliminary report says. “13.6 inches of snow fell at the Casper Airport on Wednesday.”
“This makes it the 9th snowiest day in Casper with records going back to about 1940. It is also the second snowiest day for the month of March in Casper.”

The NWS said that the Casper area received 13 to 16 inches of snow, with 13.6 inches at the Casper/Natrona County International Airport.
Casper Mountain Snotel had 26 inches of snowfall.
