CASPER, Wyo. — Denver, Colorado’s iconic restaurant Casa Bonita may have a new ownership group – MMMMMkay?
On Wednesday, creators of the long-running animated series “South Park” Matt Stone and Trey Parker told The Hollywood Reporter they want to buy the legendary Colorado restaurant Casa Bonita.
The restaurant has been closed since March of 2020. The ownership group, Summit Family Restaurants, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy a year later, in April 2021.

“It’s just sitting there. It sucks,” Parker told The Hollywood Reporter. “For a moment, when it was like ‘Casa Bonita is going to close down,’ we said, ‘We’re going to go buy it.’ And I felt like it was the crowning achievement of my life.”
Casa Bonita has been featured repeatedly in Stone and Parker’s show South Park, which has been airing on Comedy Central since 1997.
Parker and Stone told The Hollywood Reporter they want to buy Casa Bonita now “and treat it right.” That would also include changing the food, which has never been considered the restaurant’s best feature.
