Remi Storm Stukey

Remi Storm Stukey, age 16, of Casper, passed away due to complications from Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) on September 25, 2017 at Wyoming Medical Center. Remi was born April 10, 2001 in Casper, Wyoming to Sarah Rowland and Monte Stukey. She was currently a junior at Kelly Walsh High School. She was an excellent student and was adored by her teachers. She was very athletic and had a very competitive nature. When she was three, she discovered her passion for gymnastics, and excelled as a competitive gymnast for the next thirteen years. Unfortunately, earlier this year her illness prevented her from enjoying her favorite sport and being able to attend school full-time. She faced her illness with courage and never gave up the hope of living a “normal” life. She was a beautiful girl inside and out. Her big blue eyes and her smile will not easily be forgotten. Remi was shy and quiet and it could take a while to see her funny, silly personality. Her greatest joys in life were do it yourself “DIY” projects, making her secret ingredient slime and making funny short- videos with her sister, reading conspiracy theories, hanging out with her friends, watching scary movies, and being a dare-devil. She loved to travel and enjoyed her time at the beaches in Mexico, and swimming in her aunt and uncle’s pool in Arizona where there weren’t any lifeguards to tell her what not to do. Remi touched many in the 6,012 days of her life, even as being an organ donor after death. Although we would have loved to have Remi with us longer, we were blessed to share this short time with her.

Remi was preceded in death by her brother, Riley Stukey, grandfather, Glenn Fullerton, grandmother, Cindy Rowland and many great-grandparents. She is survived by her parents, Sarah and Larry Rowland, brother, Race Stukey, sister, Macy Rowland, father, Monte Stukey, grandmother, Kathy Fullerton, grandfather, Larry Rowland Sr., grandparents, Mike and Stefne Stukey, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A Celebration of Life was held at 2:00pm, Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Highland Park Community Church followed by a reception.

Memorial contributions may be made to Dysautonomia International POTS research fund at http://www.dysautonomiainternational.org/page.php?ID+178 in Remi’s memory.
