Brandon Nicholas West

Brandon Nicholas West, twin brother to Patrick West, passed away 11 August 2019. Brandon was born in Rome, New York on 4 August, 1995. Brandon graduated from Kelly Walsh High School in 2016. Brandon also graduated from Kicking Horse Job Corps Center in Ronan, Montana with a Certificate in Culinary Arts. Brandon worked in the food industry and as a laborer for various oil field service companies. Brandon’s interests included video games, small pets, fishing, and hunting rabbits. 

The final gift Brandon gave was as an organ and tissue donor. His donations will help others live better, fuller lives.

Survivors include his parents, MSGT Graham, USAF, Retired and Stephanie West of Casper; half-brother, Ryan (Amanda) Rasmussen and their children, Ivy and Logan of Craig, Colorado; brother, Patrick, of Casper; grandmother, Sharon Rey of Dubois, Wyoming; uncle, Kevin West, of Denver, Colorado; and aunt, Sally Lott, of Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church on Saturday, 24 August at 1:00 p.m.

Robert Stanley Swanson

Robert Stanley Swanson, 69, of Casper, Wyoming, died August 14, 2019, at Wyoming Medical Center. Robert was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on October 6, 1949, to Stanley R. and Ane I. (Lykken) Swanson. He grew up on a farm in rural Alcester, South Dakota and graduated from Alcester High School in 1967. At age 21 he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. 

Robert moved to Wyoming in the late 1970s. He was a welder for many years until he began having complications with his diabetes. He attended Casper College and learned about accounting and computers. He performed computer work and data processing until he retired. Robert attended Lutheran churches in South Dakota and Wyoming, with Trinity Lutheran of Casper being his final church home. He liked listening to his “holy hip hop” and tried to share it with friends and relatives. He enjoyed sharing his love and knowledge of Jesus’s love and way to salvation. When he was asked what he wished to see first upon arriving in heaven, he exclaimed, “Jesus!”

Robert had a huge heart, a great sense of humor, and a passion for the game of pool. He won numerous awards for his skill and advanced to national competitions. 

Robert is preceded in death by his parents and two siblings: Arlene and Arden. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Carolyn & Curtis Saugstad of Alcester, SD; children Tracey (Karl) Dudley of Casper, WY, Carrie (Brian) Brown of Vermillion, SD; grandchildren Sophie and Sadie Brown of Vermillion, SD, Austin Dudley of Laramie, WY, and Amanda Dudley (JD Henman) of Casper, WY; great-grandchild Oliver Henman of Casper, WY; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He also is survived by his best friend, Steve Cotton.

A service will be held on August 19, 2019, at Bustard’s Funeral Directors and Crematory in Casper, Wyoming at 10 am.

Interment will be on September 2, 2019, at Roseni Cemetery in rural Beresford, South Dakota at 10 am, with reception in the Roseni Church basement following the service.

David Oscar Romango passed away peacefully at his home in Cody, Wyoming on Saturday, August 10, 2019 surrounded by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Dave was born in Thermopolis, Wyoming on March 4, 1940 to Paul and Mildred Romango. The Romango’s made homes throughout Wyoming including Hamilton Dome, Gillette, Cody and Casper. Dave was a Natrona County High School graduate, class of 1958. He remained lifelong friends with many of his high school car buddies. Dave was born with a love for cars and was a gifted mechanic, a talented driver and loved restoring cars. At only 13 years old Dave bought a 1947 Chevy coupe from his grandfather and maintained “The ’47” for over sixty years.

In 1963 Dave married Bonnie Lange in Casper and they were blessed with three children; Michael Dale, James David and Sandra Lee. At Bonnie’s urging Dave took a job with Ranger Well Service, beginning an over fifty year career in the oil fields of Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, New Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Albania, and beyond. Dave was widely respected as a top consultant in his field and was well known for his knowledge, professionalism, ethics and dedication to the industry.

In 1972 Dave rededicated his life to Christ and never cussed again. In 1975 he married  Lana Johanna Stairs and with her son, Eric Anthony, they lived in  Casper, Big Piney, and Green River before making their home in Cody, Wyoming in 1979. Over the years in Cody, Dave and Lana were active members in their church and they rescued many, many, many cats. 

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mildred, and his beloved Lana Jo. He is survived by his brothers Duane (Mary) Romango, and Harry (Dorothy) Romango; his children, Michael (Reka) Romango, James Romango, Sandra (Michael Harris) Romango, and Eric Romango. Dave was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He is loved and will be forever remembered by his numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, neighbors, friends, co-workers, and the coffee gang.

Services were held Wednesday, August 14, 2019 in Cody, WY.
