Cathy Ann Francis

CASPER, Wyo. –

Cathy Ann Francis: 1953 – 2020

Cathy Ann Francis, age 67, of Casper, Wyoming passed away October 26, 2020 at Wyoming Medical Center. Cathy was born September 18, 1953 in Casper to Edward and Darlene (Rieb) Herder. Cathy enjoyed her time outside working on her flowers and fishing.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, son, David Hartley, and son, Scott Francis. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Darwin Francis, sons, James (Kassidy) Hartley, Paul (Dawn) Francis, Christopher Hartley, Clarence Francis, 21 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be held at Wyoming Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Cathy’s memory.

Jacqueline Winsted

Jacqueline Winsted: 1932 – 2020

Jacqueline Scholz Winsted, age 88, of Casper, passed away October 27, 2020 at Shepherd of the Valley Care Center. Jacqueline was born January 7, 1932 in Casper, Wyoming to Adolph “Jack” and Beth (Evans) Scholz. Jacqueline attended schools in Casper and went to Laramie College after graduation. She was a fabulous needle worker. She loved to sew, dance, and volunteer. She loved her family and children dearly.

Jacqueline was preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands, Bill Wood, and John Winsted, brother, Dolf Scholz, and nephew, Michael Scholz.

She is survived by her son, John Winsted, sister, Kandy Murphy, brother, Ned Scholz, grandson, Jonathan, and one great-grandson, Tobias.

A private graveside service will be held at Highland Cemetery, Casper.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Research Children’s Hospital in Jacqueline’s memory.

Glenn Earnest Fink

Glenn Earnest Fink: May 2, 1932 ~ October 25, 2020 (age 88)

Glenn Ernest Fink 88 passed away on October 25th with his loving wife of 66 years by his side.

Glenn was born and raised around Belle Fourche, South Dakota. In 1950 after graduating from High School Glenn joined the Army. He served as a medic in Alaska during the Korean War. In 1954 he married the love of his life Jackie (Cushing) Fink.

In 1964 Glenn and Jackie moved with their five children to Casper, WY. There Glenn worked as a Union Sheet Metal Worker for 30 yrs.

He was Union President of Local 506 for 14 years. Glenn enjoyed a life time of camping, hunting, and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.

After retiring Glenn and Jackie traveled the United States in their Motorhome. Glenn is survived by his wife Jackie, daughters Rosanne (Dan) Gallegos, Bonnie (Dale) Hill, Kris (Gary) Jones, Sandy (Gary) Fowler, son Rick (Diane) Fink, 16 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, his brother Gary, brother in law Marion, and four nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents and sister Mary Lou.

Lowell LaVern Pierce

Lowell LaVern Pierce: October 28, 1943 ~ October 19, 2020 (age 76)

Lowell LaVern Pierce, 76, of Mills, Wyoming passed away on October 19, 2020 surrounded by family.

Lowell was born on October 28, 1943 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Lyle E. Pierce and Ann (Heintz).

Lowell attended high school in Scottsbluff, Nebraska through the 11th grade, later to get his G.E. D. in 2006 at age 62, oldest one in his class to graduate.

He served in the Air Force and was honorable discharged in 1961, where he married the love of his life Linda (Moore) in 1962. They were married 58 years, having 3 wonderful children.

They moved to Shirley Basin, Wyoming in 1972, where he worked in the mines until they closed, where he then worked for Glenrock Coal Mines until he retired in 2006.

Lowell is survived by his loving wife, Linda of Mills and 3 children, daughters, Colleen Oberlender (Don) and Deanna Lawstuen, both of Casper, son, Mark Pierce of Texas, brother Stanley Pierce of Casper. He is also survived by  6 grandchildren,  13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle Pierce and Ann Hizel and sister Julia Peterson.

Funeral Services will be held at Bustard & Jacoby Funeral Home on October 27, 2020 at 2PM. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to services from 1–2PM.

Sharon Johnson

Sharon Johnson: May 10, 1938 ~ October 19, 2020 (age 82)

On October 19, 2020, Sharon K. Johnson went home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Sharon passed away at Central Wyoming Hospice surrounded by her Son, Daughter-In-Law, Daughter and Granddaughter. Sharon was born in Laramie, Wyoming on May 10, 1938 to Blaine Moffat and June Weers, she was 82 years old. Sharon was married to Ronald Johnson up until the time of his death in February 1972.

Sharon was raised and grew up in Laramie, Wyoming until her high school years when the family moved to Casper, Wyoming, where she graduated from Laramie High in 1956. She went on to attend the University of Wyoming where she obtained a degree in Nursing. Later on in life she returned to Casper College and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Addiction and Substance Abuse at the ripe age of 69. It was her passion to help struggling addicts and victims of abusive relationships. She had a heart of gold and would refuse no one that needed help. In 1964 she was the first woman in the State of Wyoming to receive her NHRA License. She went on to win many races throughout the State of Wyoming and Colorado. She was a lifetime member of the BPOE Does and FOE Eagles, working her way through the ranks to become President of her drove, working along side her lifelong friend Ilene Peck.

She spent her entire life in Retail, Managing the Woolworth’s in downtown Casper up until the store closed. At that time, she moved to Houma, LA to continue her work with Woolworth’s. She stayed in Louisiana for several years until family matters called her to Denver, Colorado where she once again continued her work with Woolworth’s in the Denver area for about 15 years until she returned to Casper to end out her retail career with Walmart in Casper, retiring in 2004.

Sharon was an avid lover of Pit Bulls, having always had one at her side. Having a love for the rescue dogs who have been abused through illegal dog fighting. She also in her later years came to love elephants, having every knick-knack, picture, you name it of elephants. Sharon was an avid Wyomingite, who loved learning everything about Wyoming’s history. She would talk your ear off if given the chance. She also loved turquoise jewelry to the extinct that she would hunt down New Mexico and Arizona jewelers to make custom, signature pieces.

Sharon and Ron had 4 children, Jody Johnson Craig, Julie Gordy, Ronice Johnson and Kenneth Johnson, who she continued to raise alone as a single parent after Ron’s early death in 1972. She had tragedy in her life, having to bury her husband, 2 daughters, and a grandson, all at early ages. She was a strong, loving woman to have survived so much tragedy with grace and humility. She will be greatly missed by all her family and many friends.

Sharon is survived by her son, Kenneth Johnson (LaDonna), daughter, Jody Johnson Craig, granddaughters, Lindsey Craig and Jessica Gordy, grandson, Jermaine Gordy, and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was also survived by half-sisters, Sherry Jubilee Montes, Regina Smith, Connie Moffat, Sandy Stewart and a half-brother, Danny Moffat and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her Father, Blaine Moffat, Mother, June Weers, her loving husband, Ronald Johnson, daughters Julie Gordy, Ronice Johnson and grandson, Levi Martin.

Her memorial services are Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Bustard’s Funeral Home with a viewing on Friday, October 23rd from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Interment will follow at a later date. Reception to immediate follow at the home of Kenny and LaDonna Johnson, 1540 Prairie Ln., Bar Nunn, Wy.
