CASPER, Wyo. –

Cecilia H. Gray: 1929 – 2020

Cecilia H. Gray, 91, of Casper, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2020.

Cec was born August 24, 1929, in Casper, Wyoming, to Elizabeth Harte Doherty and James J. Doherty, both Irish immigrants. She attended St. Anthony’s School and graduated from Natrona County High School in 1947.

Cecilia and Chuck Gray were married at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Casper August 22, 1949. They lived in Casper and raising three children while enjoying all the outdoor activities Wyoming had to offer. Cec worked as an Associate Ophthalmologist for three doctors in Casper. She was active the Catholic Church, 4-H, and Boy Scouts of America with her children. Summers for the Gray family were spent on Casper Mountain and Alcova Lake with annual trips to the Tetons, Yellowstone and the Big Horn Mountains camping.

After retiring, Cec and Chuck wintered in Yuma Arizona and summered in Casper continuing their love of reading, cruises, camping and fishing, with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Chuck preceded her in death on February 18, 2014.

Survivors include her sons Dan (Suzanne) of Pearland, TX, Tim (Susan) of Casper, her daughter Donna Tempest (Rick) of Casper; grandchildren Jennifer Gray, Jimmy Gray, Donna Gray, Lenny Gray, Nicole Fenton, Rone Tempest, Patrick Tempest, Matt Brunett and Darcy Brunett, along with their spouses, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son Thomas; her three sisters, Mary Doherty Rhodes, Brigid Doherty McIntosh, Patricia Doherty Cook and her brother Daniel Doherty.

A private service will be held by the family.

The family appreciates contributions to Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions or Meals on Wheels.

Baldev Singh

Baldev Singh: 1951 – 2020

Baldev Singh, 69, of Douglas, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020.

He was born October 15, 1951, in Punjab, India, the son of Santa and Lachman (Kaur) Singh.

Baldev owned and operated the 4 Winds Hotel Douglas, Wyoming, retiring in 2016.

Baldev Singh married Kamla D. Devi on May 24, 1977 in India. She survives of the home. Other survivors include two sons, Gurjeet Singh and Amarjeet Singh both of Douglas, WY; his grandson, Gobind Singh; and two brothers, Jaswant Singh of Lenexa, KS and Ajit Singh of Chicago, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother Gurchran Singh.

Baldev loved reading daily news and enjoyed working on cars, especially taxi’s as he was a former owner/operator of his own taxi service and drove a taxi for 25 years in Chicago.

A private service will be held at the Newcomer Funerals, Cremations & Receptions in Casper, Wyoming. Cremation will follow the service.


John Gilbert: October 5, 1944 ~ November 20, 2020 (age 76)

John Dee Gilbert was born to Ira D. And Fannie Gilbert in Princeton, Indiana on Oct. 5, 1944.  He passed away in Casper, WY on Nov. 20, 2020 at the age of 76 years and 2 months. 


 John is survived by his beloved wife, Claudine Gilbert, two sons, Johnny Jr. and Danny Wayne Gilbert, a stepdaughter, Tammy Mathis and husband Stan, a stepson, Eddie Adams, 17 grandkids and 6 great grandchildren who affectionally called him Papa John.


 John had a fulfilling career in the oilfield starting at age 14 as a deckhand and eventually moving up to drilling completion foreman.  John worked for several companies all through the Midwest but loved Wyoming best.  Thirty years ago John changed careers and went to work for Richardson Trucking moving oilfield equipment.  John was very much loved and will be greatly missed.
