Michael A. Megee

October 3, 1946 – January 7, 2021 (age 74)

Michael A. Megee, 74, was the eldest son of Lloyd and Mary Megee. Michael, who was born and grew up in Houston, Texas, graduated high school there and started college in Beaumont, Texas, majoring in engineering. Michael died as a result of a fall and passed away in Casper, Wyoming.

His service in Vietnam resulted in numerous health challenges but he didn’t let them stop him. He chose to enlisted in the Air Force, serving a total of 6 years (active and reserve), holding the rank of Staff Sergeant at the time of discharge. After the service he returned to school, while supporting a family, earning a degree in business, which would prove quite useful in later life when he ran his own successful energy consulting firm.

Michael developed his love of fishing in the bayou (catching was even better!) of Texas. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time in the outdoors with his wife, Toni. He was active in Civil Air Patrol and earned commendations for radio participation resulting in recovery. His father gave him his first radio to assemble as a young boy. Michael knew volumes about radios. One would find Michael operating with people all over the world. He was a member of the National Association for Amateur Radio, receiving several citations and awards, including the Worked All Stations Award and the Century Club.

Michael did think people should be kinder to each other. He wanted to see people happy and helped many be accomplished in their own lives. He was a fiercely loyal friend and dedicated companion.

Survivors include Toni, his beloved spouse of 23 years, his stepchildren Chad Saunders and Keli (Scott) Johnson, and two step-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Pat Megee and sister Cathy Swanberg.
Memorial service will be held at a later date.
