Gene Kessner, 49, passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at his home in Casper, Wyoming. He died following a sudden illness. He was a resident of Casper for 25 years and a former resident of Rock Springs, Wyoming.
He was born on May 25, 1972 in Rock Springs, Wyoming to Robert Kessner and Norma Marcy.
Mr. Kessner attended schools in Rock Springs, Wyoming and was a 1990 graduate of Rock Springs High School. He received his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Wyoming in 1995.
His first and only employment was at Farm Bureau Insurance Company straight out of college.
He worked for Farm Bureau Insurance for the past 25 years and recently became the Director of Property Catastrophe Claims, SCLA.
Mr. Kessner loved spending time with family — especially his daughter. Gene’s fur babies Sierra and Mouse were loved. He enjoyed anything outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping. His witty sense of humor was shared by everyone.
Survivors include his daughter Kaitlyn Kessner of Casper, Wyoming; brother Steven Kessner of Rock Springs, Wyoming; sister Erica Youngerman (Derrick) of Phoenix, Arizona; several cousins; nieces Ashlynn Youngerman; and Isabella Youngerman; and nephew Caiden Youngerman.
He is preceded in death by his parents Robert Kessner and Norma Kessner.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 116 Broadway St., Rock Springs, Wyoming. Interment will be in the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.
