Bonnie Jo Vigil: 1932 – 2023
Bonnie Jo Vigil, 90, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away on Saturday February 11, 2023, at Shalom Park Senior Care Center in Aurora surrounded by family.
Bonnie was born on October 28, 1932, to Clifford and Louise Wolfe in Jefferson City, Missouri. Bonnie graduated from Natrona County High School in Casper, Wyoming in 1950.
After graduating, she married Alfred C. Vigil, Jr. Al and Bonnie raised their family in Casper, and she remained in Casper until relocating to Aurora, Colorado in 1985 to be closer to her immediate family following Al’s passing in 1982.
Bonnie worked as an executive secretary for businesses in the oil & gas and insurance industries, retiring in 1997. Despite the challenges of being a working mother, she took great pride in her home and was meticulous about cleaning and maintaining it. She was the ideal neighbor!
Bonnie loved traveling to see family and friends in Arizona, California, Montana, New Jersey, Texas and Wyoming. She had a loving heart for pets and there were not many moments during her lifetime that she did not have a pet. She always considered her pets as family members.
Bonnie is survived by her three children and their spouses: Steve Vigil (Terry) of Colleyville Texas; Jeff Vigil (Julie) of Centennial, Colorado; and Sheri Vigil of Buckeye, Arizona. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Louise Wolfe; sister Betty North; and brothers David Wolfe and Donald Wolfe.
The family plans to hold burial services at Memorial Gardens in Casper, Wyoming on September 9, 2023.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made on Bonnie’s behalf to Shalom Park, 14800 East Belleview Drive, Aurora, CO 80005, or go to www.shalompark.org/give/tribute.
