Editor’s note: Tolman’s letter is in response to a letter last week that urged Wyoming to eliminate its economic reliance on the coal industry.

Moving away from coal is ridiculous.

Low sulfur coal from Wyoming and Montana is a cheap way to make electricity, and natural gas is important for cooking, heating and making electricity.

Many coal-burning plants have to have scrubbers. There’s very little pollution. China and Asia have little or no regulations.

America needs these natural resources to keep being self-reliant. America has less pollution than other countries. Coal and other resources help pay for schools, among other things. I’m sure most Wyoming residents would like to not pay state income taxes.

Please support these mining companies and keep Wyoming a great place live!
